DFI Week Seven - Reflections

This week's session was focussed on the use of devices (iPad and Chromebook) from the student's and teacher's perspectives.

The use of devices from the student's view enabled me to understand some of the frustrations my student may feel when working on their tasks due to lack of visibility (small screen, different brightness) and to be mindful when designing learning tasks by avoiding moving of small objects, filling in small boxes, or low quality or small pictures.

On the other hand, utilising the device from the teacher's view, helped me gain new knowledge about shortcuts, but also the multiple use of Explain Everything and Whiteboard.

DFI Week Six - Reflections

Today's session was focussed on enabling access to learning through Google Sites. Sharing and talking about our class sites with our bubble colleagues and getting feedback was really helpful.
It was a productive session for my professional development and I'm looking forward the next session dedicated to devices.

DFI Week Five - Reflections

Today's session was focussed on Collaborate-Sites and the use of Multi-Modal Learning. The great thing about multimodal learning is that you can engage with my learners in a variety of different ways (visual, audio, text, etc). It can be used as a tool to differentiate the learning to suit diverse types of learners. So, along with practice, it will help me improve the way I present ideas to my students.

This is one of the tasks that we had - to create a multi-modal site:

DFI Week Four - Reflections

Today's session was focussed on Dealing with Data and it offered different ways to organise (filter/sort/display) data (Google Spreadsheets), but also how to create and share learning content using Google Forms and Mymaps. It was a very interesting session for me as the information presented today filled in some gaps in my knowledge (Spreadsheets), but also added new learning (Mymaps and Forms). Along with practice, it will help me improve the way I present ideas to my students.

This is one of the tasks that we had - displaying and interpreting data from one of our students' blog posts and visitors:

I'm looking forward for next sessions about creating with Google sites.

It was a very productive session for me as the information presented today filled in some gaps in my knowledge (YouTube channels, Google Slides and Drawing). Along with practice, it will help me improve the way I present ideas to my students.

This is one of the tasks that we had:

I'm looking forward to our next session on spreadsheets.

DFI Week Two - Reflections

Today's session was very useful mostly for organizing my workflow, but also learning more about how to use Meet to connect with my students.
There was a lot of information presented, some filled in gaps (Gmail, Calendar, Meet), some completely new (Keep, Tabs), that I need to sort out through a thorough exploration. It was a positive experience and I am curious to see what the next session will bring.
